Throwback Thursday – Ida Rogers
Meet one of my maternal great-grandmothers. This is Ida Alberta Rogers Temple Keener (1881-1963). We think this is about the time she married my maternal great-grandfather in 1904. She has such a pretty Gibson Girl look that is truly a Throwback.

Wednesday Wildcard – Introduction
Another month another day to cover with a theme, finally I wanted an open day. Tuesdays have become about reviews of books, movies, TV shows, and the like. So Wednesday is wide open, anything goes today whatever hits me. It may be something I did sometime ago. It might just be an idea that natters at my mind. Heck it could be a rant on or praise of something I feel worthy. It could just be a photo post, like today. A photo I made or found (with the right licensing) that I like. It’s a wait and see game for us both. Sit back and enjoy whatever comes at you on Wednesdays and let’s both hope it helps us get over the hump toward Friday.

Throwback Thursday – Thanksgiving More Recent
Thanksgiving 2012 Men In The Kitchen Now back in the day women made the meal and men ate the meal with them. Well welcome to the 21st century where everyone has a job in the kitchen when it comes to feast time. Here are my guys helping out in 2012. Yes the meal was delicious. Aaron makes mashed potatoes. Mike does the relish tray and turkey carving/picking. Both do the various veggie and fruit chopping needed for dressing. Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving. I promise there will be a table picture of our feast this year and maybe more kitchen shots of these good-looking men.

Throwback Thursday – Thanksgiving Me
This is me at my maternal grandparent’s house in Laurens, South Carolina. I would guess this to be about 1969. It is a tradition in my family to make a picture of the table laden with the feast. So here I am not having done any of the work but going to do my best share of the eating. Enjoy!

Okay that’s not me, it’s Mike. Yes I got his permission before publishing the lipsticked baby’s got back Hobo Mike of 1971. I can’t explain this. I really don’t know what to say beyond – yes, yes I am still very glad I married the man. He’s very nice to let me post this for Throwback Thursday.

Throwback Thursday – Halloween Costume Edition
Back to me again. That’s me as a fairy I think, I’m not actually sure. That’s recycling my ballet costume adding a pretty mask and foil covered baton. Yes I’d guess it’s been a bit since I’d worn it given how short it is there… This is 1971. I remember I always wanted a custom made costume for Halloween. I don’t know what I thought the costumes I got for ballet and tap were for goodness sake! Any way I do remember when it was a cold Halloween I hated having to ruin my costume with a coat. Apparently this was a warm Halloween judging by those legs!

Aaron as a Bullfighter Mike as the Bull 1999 Okay this isn’t the best photo but the only one I could find that showed Mike’s surprise costume that year. Below the cut you’ll see Aaron’s bull fighter better. He was out posing for me when Mike came out in his bull one to take Aaron house to house. Yes if you look close it’s a shower curtain ring in his nose there and there are aluminum foil horns on the hat. Aaron was telling Mike to wait in the shadows that year. LOL! Murals of Kenosha, Wisconsin
DeBerge’s Framing and Gallery It doesn’t take long driving around Kenosha that I noticed all the custom murals. On Labor Day in the heat of the day we took out the Mustang seeking murals for me to photograph. So enjoy the scenery on that warm day (in the upper 80sF). (more…)

Stand Back – Photo Dump Approaching
For Memorial Day I went down to Tennessee to spend time with my parents. My has gotten into Greene County history and doing posts on Down Home Greeneville on Facebook with a short historical write up about each. While I was there I took her around to make photos. Needless to say I made more than a few of my own.
Then I got home with my camera chips and realized I’d not loaded up all the photos from our trip last July to Williamsburg Virginia and the Norfolk area. I know I’m not done with the cruise pictures. Oh and winter – there’s been a really hard winter in there with shots of it, snow sculptures and such. Any way it turns out I have a few thousand pictures to upload. Okay maybe not multiple thousands but definitely over a thousand. So hold on to your hat for a few photo posts as real life time permits. There will be….
July of last year the trip to the beach, Williamsburg, and Mike’s Navy graduation (that I didn’t get to see due to flight booking, my agent ahem named Mike booked my flight before the ceremony not after)….

Life is a beach when on vacation in Virginia in July. 
The brutal winter here had us all thinking of the tropics. 
Yes I actually have over 400 photos from Williamsburg. 
Oh you know there were pet pictures. 
Holidays in Tennessee. 
Did I mention it was a nasty winter here? It was and we did all we could to make the best of it. Ice sculpture contests and such. 
Of course more beading and craft sales…

Yep and more on the cruise adventures. So over the last three days I caught up on my uploading to Flickr. Yes over 1800 photos uploaded. Raw just off the camera no adjustments images. I’ll improve a few for future posts – maybe if time permits.
Also for my birthday I got a droid tablet (no Apple stuff for this girl) so now I can easily take stacks of comics with me to read. Expect that sometime there will be catch up on those too.
In the meantime you have been warned – photos are coming. Be prepared.
