Welcome to 1994 in Kalamazoo Michigan, this was Aaron’s second Christmas. This photo was made at the family Christmas party Mike’s employer at the time threw each year. Aaron is the most serious one of the bunch but then again meeting Santa is serious business when you are a 16 months old.
Some time ago on my Facebook accout I posted a picture of a dollhouse like this one asking if any one else had one. To my surprise many responded they had one too. So for the holiday I dug out the old photo albums and went looking for the photo of the Christmas morning I got mine. Here it is – I think it’s about 1969 judging from my hair.
Thowback to 1971 – this is my husband trying out the Arm uniform but in the end he retired from the Navy. I remember the icicles like that, Mom always liked putting them on our tree. He looks anxious to get into the presents there under the tree.
Happy Thanksgiving 1988 style! From my table to yours! This was our first Thanksgiving in Charleston. Yes, that’s two pictures of our dinner but for years they have been displayed in our photo album like this because it was our Thanksgiving as a couple. Oh and I still have the scarf but the style of wearing it has changed…
The year is 1979ish. The wallpaper is hip. The haircuts cool. The men are happy. From left to right there’s Len, Mark, and Mike (my future husband). It’s Thanksgiving and Donna (behind the camera) has worked hard to fill the table with food. That’s why they’re happy.
We all missed Mike when he’d ship out for months without communication. When he got home none of us could get enough of him. Popcorn, the cat, and Belle, the dog, would follow him everywhere. They’d wait outside the bathroom just in case he was trying to make a getaway. Here they are happily snuggling just after he returned in 1990. Nothing better than a nap with dad after a long separation.
Can you spot Aaron among Granpa Mac’s pumpkins? LOL! This was 1994 on the McAllister’s Michigan farm. Aaron’s orange jacket (his ‘go Vols clothes’ as he called them) just made it too irresistible not to put him there among the pumpkins. I think we picked the best one that year don’t you?
