  • Throwback Thursday – Morning Sick Christmas

    1992-xmas-morning-sickness

Welcome to Christmas 1992.  This is the time we told my family that I was pregnant. I had morning sickness then and for the first four months of my pregnancy.  So excuse the strained look.  Oh and no we were having an ugly sweater part but we could have…  For the record left to right – Mom, Me, Mike, and my maternal grandmother I called Nannie.  It is at Nannie’s house and it is the obligatory photo with food before eating…

Welcome to 1973 Christmas in Carthage New York. My Mike is in the striped shirty, his brother Mark has his back to us, and Dad Len is looking smug.

  • Thursday Throwback – Aaron’s Second Christmas

    1993-kalamazoo-stryker-christmas

Welcome to 1994 in Kalamazoo Michigan, this was Aaron’s second Christmas.  This photo was made at the family Christmas party Mike’s employer at the time threw each year.  Aaron is the most serious one of the bunch but then again meeting Santa is serious business when you are a 16 months old.

  • Thursday Throwback – Army Mike Xmas

    1971-mike-army-xmas

Thowback to 1971 – this is my husband trying out the Arm uniform but in the end he retired from the Navy.  I remember the icicles like that, Mom always liked putting them on our tree.  He looks anxious to get into the presents there under the tree.

  • Throwback Thursday – Time Machine Snowman

    Happy Holidays!
    Happy Holidays!

My family had a plastic snowman similar to this one when I was growing up. When I saw this one on a walk back in 2006 I had a rush of throwback memories of ours. This one has a candy cane ours had a broom. So here’s a throwback to 2006 that threw me back to 1968.

Today is Christmas Eve at our house. We’re getting ready for a big meal tomorrow and opening presents. Then will be the trip south to visit family. I hope whatever holiday you celebrate you are having a great one.

  • Throwback Thursday – Mike early 70’s

    Christmas Mike early 70s

We are traveling back to the early 70’s. To keep with the Throwback feel I didn’t process this picture to clear it up. Nope faded memories of Mike on Christmas. Oh I so remember so many boys with that haircut and that type of striped shirt. So what were you doing in the early 70’s? Hoping for a cool present?

  • Throwback Thursday – First Christmas

    Eklund, Aaron - 1st Christmas 1993

Ahh those were the days when I could shop for him while he rode in the same cart. When paper to tear was an AWESOME gift. He looks to be concentrating so… Yes this was my son Aaron’s first Christmas.

  • Throwback Thursday – Christmas Edition

Bright, Mary Louise with poor Santa

Honestly this is one of the most pathetic pictures of me with Santa. I think this Santa looks like Nicholas Cage… Mike doesn’t. Do you? Any way we both agree he’s a skinny pathetic Santa. I’m guessing this was about 1973. I’m guessing mom didn’t have a comb with her that day which explains my hair.
