Thursday Throwback – My First Flight

Welcome to 1967.  That’s my mom and me getting ready to  go on a flight.  Please note a few things…

First it’s a prop plane not a jet.

Second it’s Eastern Airlines which dissolved in 1991.

Third there is no skyway.  We walked on the tarmac to the stairs.

Fourthly since it was my first flight they let us go early and pose for pictures.

Finally something you can’t see – there was no security to go through.  Nope just walked on like it was a bus.  Even non-ticket holders to go to the gate with no issues.

They even let us on the plane early to pose…
